Memories

Noreen S.  I miss you Mom!  I have many fond memories of all the things you did for me as a child - the hand sewn Barbie Doll clothes, Girl Scouts, going to every track meet and field hockey event, the list is endless.  I am so thankful you lived with us these past few years.  You were such a big part of our lives.  Jack and Madeline will have fond memories of you.   Someday I will write a sitcom and call it "And then there's Marilyn".  You were a hoot to live with.  Some of the times were challenging, but we still had a lot of fun -- movies, Sea World, dinners, every holiday, church, all the kids' events, and your chair at the corner of the island during the house parties and everyone knew that was your chair.  Keep smiling my dear Mom.  I love you!!  ❤️  ❤️  ❤️

Kevin S.  I was eating pork chops tonight, and every time I saw my mother all I though about was her pork chops!  They where the worst, like a hockey puck!
I would always remind her how much we all loved her pork chops and she would always smile and say, you loved my pork chops! To this day I think she thought we liked her pork chops! They where absolute the worst.

Donna S.   Mom loved her grandchildren to bits. The few years that she lived up north on Long Island she never once missed the boys little league games and later their hockey games. She was just happy to be included in their lives and they we loved her very much. She also adored our beloved dog Zoey and Zoey loved her just as much. Mom never came to the house empty handed, she always had a treat or a toy for Zoey. Oh how mom loved dogs. Heaven just received a beautiful angel 😇

John B .   God Bless, Marilyn. She was a wonderful person in every respect who lived a blessed life. She was the embodiment of virtue -- compassionate, caring, loving, unselfish, gracious, charitable, humble, and patient. She had unyielding optimism, energy, and a pure spirit that made everyone around her feel great. She was much more than a mother-in-law to me -- she was a surrogate mother. When I first met Marilyn in 1999, I immediately felt like I was at home, although my own mother had passed away years prior. God bless you, Marilyn. Your indomitable spirit will always be with us, until we reunite one day in God's Kingdom.

De Amezola Family   We were blessed to know Marilyn and blessed to have great memories that will warm our hearts and put smiles on our faces. Every time we went to visit, the dogs would be going crazy, barking and running around. The kids would be laughing and running around and right in the middle of it all would be Marilyn. Enjoying the excitement of it all with her big smile and loving every moment of it. We will miss her. Her family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Erin Conlon DeGrauw    So sorry to hear of your great loss. Aunt Marilyn was always so much fun to be with when I would come for the summer weeks. Fishing, playing with the dogs, swimming in the pool, drinking Uncle Bob’s Pepsi, and watching Dukes Of Hazard while Aunt Marilyn rubbed my hair are some of my fondest memories. Sending Love to you all. ❤️

Penny Hall Gerlach   RIP Marilyn. I loved your spirit and Noreen's never ending hilarious stories of life as your daughter. Noreen and family may God bring you peace at this difficult time. Prayers and hugs from me and Eddie!

Hope Diehl    Beautifully written Noreen! I can only hope that when my time comes my daughter cares for me the way you’ve cared for your mom in her last years! She was lucky enough to have all of us, your friends, as her honorary children as well. We all enjoyed her constant cheerful disposition. She will be missed!

Mario Accardo     Mom was an amazing woman. Growing up on Babylon Ave you could always hear the "dinner" bell. That was the sign that it was time to come in. She had a wonderful way about her and an incredible smile. My childhood would not be complete without your family just doors away from us. I thank God for that privilege. May God bless you and keep you Marilyn.
